About Fuji Buffet and Grill
Located at 4605 28th St SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49512, Fuji Buffet and Grill operates as a chinese buffet serving Grand Rapids in Michigan. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.
Chinese restaurants in the United States range from steam-table lunch counters to white-tablecloth Cantonese seafood halls, and most fall somewhere in between: a laminated menu, a lunch special board, and combo plates priced a few dollars below the dinner menu. Ordering by number off the menu is normal and speeds things up, especially at takeout counters. Family-style ordering, where a table shares several dishes with rice rather than each person getting an individual entree, is standard at sit-down spots and usually cheaper per person. Many neighborhood restaurants are cash-preferred or charge a small card fee, so it is worth asking or checking the door before you order. Delivery apps cover most areas, but calling the restaurant directly is often faster and avoids the markup.
The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. The most common schedule is 11 am–9 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (616) 285-1665. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, fujibuffetgrill.com.

Imagine Willy Wonka decided to open a buffet instead of a chocolate factory—Fuji Buffet & Grill on 28th Street would be the result. This colossal playground unleashes numerous dishes across Chinese, Japanese, and American cuisines, each one arriving with the fanfare of a parade at rush hour. I came armed with an appetite and the kind of ambition that only a bottomless buffet can inspire. The sushi bar is shockingly fresh for a buffet—California rolls that don’t taste like regret, nigiri that didn’t swim upstream yesterday, and enough wasabi to clear your sinuses and your conscience. The hibachi grill sizzles with promise: heap your plate with shrimp, chicken, and veggies while a cook with the showmanship of a Vegas magician flings flames and banter in equal measure. Pro tip: raid the seafood section like a pirate on shore leave—crab legs, jumbo shrimp, and those sneaky salt-and-pepper crabs that make you forget portion control and your dignity ever existed. Desserts? An anarchic wonderland of soft-serve, technicolor cakes, and fruits that somehow rationalize that third (okay, fourth… fine, fifth) trip. Sure, some steam-table bravehearts lose their heat mid-battle, and the caverno

Love this place! The buffet offers an impressive variety of fresh options, including a full salad bar, delicious desserts, a large sushi selection, and a create-your-own stir-fry hibachi station. There is something for everyone. It’s an especially great choice for families, with plenty of kid-friendly options alongside traditional Chinese, Japanese, and American favorites. The restaurant is consistently clean, well-stocked, and the staff is always friendly and attentive. If you’re looking for a buffet in the Grand Rapids area with excellent variety and fresh food, Fuji Buffet is definitely worth a visit!

We went on Mother's Day. I thought we weren't going to get in. The line was long but I had party of three, we were called the fourth time. The servers were quick with your drinks. They constantly put fresh food out. The selection of food was thought through for Mother's Day crowd control. It was amazing and done very professional. I eat here often, but the level of service was impressive. Management did their job, no screaming at their employees. Chairs were put away, and some had to be put out for the larger parties but it was done gracefully.

Our family has been a patron of this establishment since its inception, predating the birth of my daughter, and we have witnessed its remarkable growth and development. We are profoundly grateful for the presence of Fuji Buffet and Grill in our vicinity, as it provides a valuable dining alternative. The entire staff consistently demonstrates exceptional efficiency and helpfulness. While cultural and linguistic differences may exist, their dedication to hard work, maintaining cleanliness, and continuous improvement is evident. The owner is consistently present, personally greeting guests, while the husband skillfully prepares the meals and manages food coordination. I am somewhat perplexed by the four-star rating, as I firmly believe this establishment merits a five-star evaluation. 1. **Exceptional Food Selection:** The array of culinary options is outstanding. 2. **Superior Freshness:** Compared to similar buffet-style restaurants, the freshness of the food is consistently higher. 3. **Dedicated Service:** The entire team works diligently, and their commitment extends beyond mere gratuities, despite the potential for reduced tips inherent in a buffet setting. 4. **Diverse C

February 28, 2026 – Around 6:00 PM I had a very unpleasant experience at this restaurant. I asked for extra towels from the woman wearing a pink shirt who was sitting near the entrance, preparing forks and spoons for incoming customers. She seemed to have difficulty understanding English, which I completely understand and respect. To make it easier, I politely pointed to the towels under her table. She responded by saying “Table,” but I didn’t understand what she meant. I looked around the nearby tables trying to figure it out. Suddenly, she shouted “Table!” at me in an angry and rude tone. I felt very uncomfortable. I decided to walk back to my table, and she followed me while continuing to shout “Table.” It was unnecessary and very unprofessional. I later found the tissue box on my table, but there was absolutely no reason for her to react with anger or shout at a customer. Customer service matters. Unfortunately, because of this rude behavior, I will not be returning.
